CAST ANNOUNCED FOR THE THIRD YEAR OF THE NATIONAL TOUR OF MJ

THE FOUR-TIME TONY AWARD®-WINNING MUSICAL

COMING TO TORONTO’S CAA ED MIRVISH THEATRE

SEPTEMBER 16 – NOVEMBER 4, 2025

The third year of the acclaimed First National Tour of the smash-hit musical MJ begins August 12 – August 24 at Broadway in Chicago’s James M Nederlander Theatre where the tour originally launched to critical acclaim in August 2023. Over the last two years, the tour has visited 65 cities across North America, broken numerous box office records, and has played to over 1.7 million patrons.

MJ will make its highly anticipated Toronto premiere September 16 – November 2, 2025 at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre. Tickets are available now at mirvish.com or by calling 1.800.461.3333

THE CAST

Jordan Markus will continue to star in his role as ‘MJ’ in the First National Tour. An original cast member of the touring company, Jordan made his Broadway and National Tour debuts playing both ‘MJ’ and ‘Michael’ in MJ. He is joined by Melvin Gray Jr. (MJ – Alternate), Quentin Blanton Jr. (Little Michael), Bryce A. Holmes (Little Michael), Erik Hamilton (u/s MJ, u/s Michael), Brandon Lee Harris (Michael), Devin Bowles (Joseph Jackson/Rob), Kevin Cruz (Alejandro), J. Daughtry (Berry Gordy/Nick), Rajané Katurah (Katherine Jackson/Kate), Michael Nero (Tito Jackson/Quincy Jones), Austin Rankin (Little Marlon), Jed Resnick (Dave), and Kristin Stokes (Rachel).

THE CREATIVE TEAM

The MJ creative team features Scenic Design by two-time Tony and Emmy Award winner Derek McLane, Lighting Design by seven-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz, Costume Design by Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award winner Paul Tazewell, Sound Design by Tony Award winner Gareth Owen, Projection Design by two-time Tony Award nominee Peter Nigrini, Hair & Wig Design by two-time Emmy Award nominee Charles G. LaPointe and Makeup Design by Emmy nominee Joe Dulude II. The creative team also features Musical Supervision by Tony Award nominee David Holcenberg, Orchestrations and Arrangements by David Holcenberg and Tony Award winner Jason Michael Webb, and Music Direction by Nathanael Wilkerson and Jason Yarcho.  Casting by The Telsey Office / Rachel Hoffman, CSA, Lindsay Levine, CSA.     

The MJ First National Tour is general managed by Bespoke Theatricals.  The stage management team is led by Production Stage Manager Nicole Olson, Stage Manager Xavier Khan and Assistant Stage Managers Alexander Pierce and Lauren Taylor Winston. The company management team is led by Company Manager Eric Armstrong and Assistant Company Manager Bianca Jean-Charles.   

MJ is produced on Broadway and tour by Lia Vollack, John Branca and John McClain.
